*AUTHOR'S PROLOGUE*
"In the aftermath
of the World Trade Center Attack, I begin to "awake"; I feel that it is
important to understand and ask the difficult question of "WHY"???
Every effect has a cause,and every
cause has an effect.The following poetry was inspired/influenced by "MY"
ambivalent-confusion in regard to the reason America was attacked and why
we are so hated by the Islamic-Fundamentalists...
In my opinion
the situation is far more complex than the "EITHER_OR" /"GOOD vs. EVIL"
mindset which our government and leaders are programming into their rhetoric.TRUTH
is always the first casualty in ANY war...
It is NOT
my intent to offend or upset anyone's beliefs concerning these terrible
attacks on our country;however,it is important to UNDERSTAND the meaning
behind the HATE and CYCLE_OF_VIOLENCE ,which is permeating throughout
the contemporary world of today.
My only intent is to make the reader "THINK" for "THEMSELVES"
and not to blindly accept the government's "version" of the TRUTH .
It is the responsibility of every citizen in a FREE_SOCIETY
to challenge and question our leaders and to derive our OWN conclusions
based on the facts and ACTUAL truth,not the "TRUTH of APPEARANCES"
The concepts of :FREEDOM & PEACE are a "PROCESS "
and continuous "JOURNEY" and are not "DESTINATIONS" or
"PLACES".These terms ,IMHO,have become cliche' and misunderstood and will
never be "ACHEAVED" based on the current MIND-SET of conventional wisdom...
Remember the words of the worlds greatest PHILOSOPHER,"Jesus
Christ" :"DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU"...

of emotional malaise…
Angst of detatchment,
empty home;
social disfunction,
feeling alone…
Yesterdays unknown,
tomorrows yet to come;
marching to the beat
of a different drum…

TWIN_TOWERS
Terrorist-attack,
American shore;
innocent casualties,
undefined war...
Twin_Towers,
thousands of lives;
suicide-bombers,
terror from the skies...
Collapse of freedom,
security and trust;
crumbled concrete,
surrealistic-dust...
Faceless-enemy,
irrational hate;
human-tragedy,
twisted fate...
America Unites,
behind her sorrow;
facing the fear,
uncertain tomorrow...

“GROUND_HERO"
With an impulse to respond,
before the Towers fell,
they selflessly saved lives,
from a burning hell…
“New York’s Finest”,
were lost in the dust-cloud;
performing their duty to the end-
making America proud!…
Victims of the fury,
disaster’s –lament;
into the fire,
the courageous went…
The measure of their sacrifice,
goes well beyond zero;
forever remembered,
the victims of “Ground_Hero”….

Childhood memories
make us reflect,
they open doors
we would never expect.
…….to bridge the imagination,
makes us grin;
un-bridled joy
comes from within…
…….to build upon
a natural structure ,
transforms your life
into one of wonder…
…….to rise above
the ground below ;
create a sanctuary,
where no one can go…
…….to exist in the moment ,
virtual time;
infinite correlation,
integral mind….
Tom Sawyer’s spirit
exists in us all,
if only we choose
to hear the call…

Partisan Empire,
expanding border ;
global economy,
“New-World-Order”…
Collective anger,
patriotic-flame;
victims of the fury,
impulse to blame…
Misguided citizens,
dichotomy of Hate;
racial profiling,
Vigilante-State…
Truth dies quickly-
first casualty of War ;
population never knowing,
just what it is for…
America is no longer
the “Land of the Free” ;
today it is just a “Dog”
fighting the “War of the Flea”…

The human-condition,
contains both truth and lie,
We laugh,

Pain of seperation;
emotional sigh,
We live,
We love,

Existential questions;
pondering why,
We win,
We lose,
We cry…
Stifled spirit;
burning sky,
We fear,
We hate,
We cry…
Lost hope;
unwilling to try,
We live,
We love,
We die…

Blind patriotism,
direction unclear;
primitive emotions,
polarized fear…
Manifest anger,
consuming rage;
impulsive revenge,
empty page…
Distorted love,
obsessive hate;
social turmoil,
humanity’s fate…
Corporate-Profit,
global empire;
power lust,
perverse desire…
Selfish motives,
insatiable greed;
exploiting weakness,
artificial need…
Us and them,
“either-or” ;
cause and effect,
perpetual war…

Hidden origins,
tidal-pool;
divine distortion,
religious fool…
Worship the messenger,
forgetting the message;
Man creates God
in “his” own image…
Spiritual propaganda,
ceremonial culture;
artificial grace,
holy vulture…
Word of God ,
partisan view;
archaic-dogma,
of the chosen-few…
Intolerant of tribes,
with an opposing belief;
God has been relegated
to a Tribal-Chief…

Emotional colors-
red ,white and blue;
patriotic symbols,
easy to misconstrue…
The Old-World flag,
was honored with pride;
The New-World banner,
has an agenda to hide…
Bandwagon-patriotism
rules the mob,
while it demonizes the “enemy”,
in the name of GOD…
Economic politics has created
America’s story;
flags“Made in China”,
bought and sOLD-GLORY…
